Ishmael Lo performs with Tuku
May 1 2004, was the day that most people attending
this year’s Harare International Festival of the Arts (HIFA)
had been waiting for. The Sold Out concert by the “African
Bob Dylan”, Ishmael Lo will go down as one of the best concerts
at this years Caltex Main Stage.
Ishmaeol Lo kept the crowd on its feet as he took
them on a great musical journey. The crowd went into frenzy as Ishmael
Lo invited Oliver Mtukudzi on stage to join him on the song “Africa”.
Oliver lived up to expectations, as he sang in his native shona
language, urging that Africa needs peace and not war. In an interview after the show, Ishmael Lo said the
was greatly honoured to have performed with Tuku. He said he had
great respect for Tuku and they looked forward to working on a project
with Tuku in the near future.
