Oliver Mtukudzi to perform at HIFA 2006 opening concert

Oliver ‘Tuku’ Mtukudzi is one of the many performers in the opening concert of the 7th edition of the Harare International Festival of the Arts (HIFA) whci opens in Harare on April 26. The theme for HIFA this year is ‘Hand in Hand’.

The opening concert dubbed ‘7th Heaven’ is a unique spiritual event that will feature various local and international artists who include the Celebration Choir, Pastor G, ZimZim Acrobats, Tumbuka, Tony Cox and Lokua Kanza.

The show is being directed by Brett Bailey, the multi-award winning South Afrian theatre director, designer and playwright. Highly acclaimed Zimbabwean musician Andrew Baird is the musical director.
HIFA will run from April 26 to April 30, 2006.
