Tuku and Steve Dyer stage memorable show in Harare

Thousands of Oliver Mtukudzi and Steve Dyer fans thronged the Harare International Conference Centre on September 30 to witness in song and dance one of the biggest and memorable musical performance for the year. Net*One, Zimbabwe’s mobile phone operator organized the concert as part of their 10th anniversary celebrations under the theme - “10 Years of Song and Dance”
The concert was also Tuku’s first performance after his return from a successful two month tour in the United Kingdom and the United States of America (USA).
Steve Dyer, backed by the Black Spirits performed some of his melodic classics which included, Thabiso a song he recorded in the 80’s with the Southern Freeway. So popular was the song and fans requested an encore in the early hours of the morning.
Tuku also lived up to expectations with his backing band, The Black Spirits. The highlight of the night was the performance of the songs Tozeza and Handiro Dambudziko. Tuku and Dyer also performed a selection of songs they recorded together as the group Mahube. The songs included Tindike and Neria.
The musicians also performed a selection of songs from their forthcoming albums which are yet to be released.
