The Blues Room hosts Tuku for first time

Friday 19 July 2008 – The Blues Room in Johannesburg – is the place to be where Tuku is performing for the first time with his Black Spirits Band in this up-market joint before he jets off for his international schedules in the United Kingdom.

Tuku makes the packed July calendar of live entertainment at The Blues Room joining the likes of Perez, Bheki Khoza and Quartet, Dr Victor, Zuluboy, Reflections and Flash Republic all of whom are performing this July.

The Blues Room best known for its top selection of top artists and its fine cuisine is located at Shop L8, Village Walk Shopping Centre, corner Rivonia/Maude Street, Sandton. It is contactable on telephone: 011 7845527 or visit www.bluesroom.co.zw.

Meanwhile Tuku links up solo with mbira diva Chiwoniso Maraire the following day on Saturday 20 July for a VIP access music concert at the Bassline in Newtown, Johannesburg.

Many a time, we see Tuku or Chiwoniso on stage but never get the up-close and personal drift. The two musicians perform solo for the first time together - mirroring the old in Tuku and the young in Chiwoniso.

With his acoustic and drums, fans will get to see the new side of Tuku while Chiwoniso takes us back to the roots, the history of the mbira instrument.

Both are well accomplished artists with a flair for professionalism. They were both born in music and continue to respect the profession that has carried them through generations.

The show is promoted by Zim Cafe, a music Promotions Company registered in South Africa. Zim Cafe concentrates on exotic African music and promotes musicians of high caliber. This year alone, Zim
Cafe has signed a three gig contract with Tuku which will see the superstar perform at different venues across Gauteng.

Bassline is located at - 10 Henry Nxumalo Street, Newtown, Johannesburg.
